Newcastle Jets will play away to Adelaide United in the Round of 32 of the Westfield FFA Cup 2017.

The draw for the Round of 32 of this year’s national knockout competition – which gives Member Federation clubs the opportunity to match up against professional Hyundai A-League sides – was held in Sydney today.

Gun winger Andrew Nabbout represented the Jets at the 3:00pm draw, which was hosted by FOX SPORTS football personality Tara Rushton and conducted by former Caltex Socceroos Charlie Yankos and Peter Raskopoulos.

The Round of 32 will be held over three weeks beginning in the last week of July, however no Hyundai A-League club will play their match before Tuesday 1 August 2017.

Football Federation Australia (FFA) will confirm all match details by no later than Monday 3 February 2017.

FOX SPORTS will show 11 matches live (one match per night) while providing coverage and updates as well as live streaming of all non-broadcast matches. Details around the FOX SPORTS broadcast and streaming will be announced closer to the start of the Round of 32.

Newcastle Jets will play up to three friendlies against National Premier Leagues (NPL) Northern NSW clubs before the Round of 32 fixture against the Reds. Information regarding the local NPL friendlies will be released as soon as possible.

The match against Adelaide United will be Jets Head Coach Ernie Merrick’s first competitive fixture in charge of the Club. The Reds have a new Head Coach themselves in German mentor Marco Kurz.
