Newcastle Jets midfielder Steven Ugarkovic was today acknowledged as the club’s Beechwood Homes Player of the Month for February 2017.

Ugarkovic received just over 60 per cent of the vote from fans on the Club’s official website – www.NewcastleJets.com.au.

The other nominees for February 2017 were defenders Jason Hoffman and Lachlan Jackson.

The Newcastle Jets Beechwood Homes Player of the Month Award is presented to one Hyundai A-League or Westfield W-League player throughout each team’s 2016/17 season.

Attacker Andrew Nabbout (October 2016, December 2016 & January 2017) as well as goalkeeper Jack Duncan (November 2016) have been the other winners throughout this campaign.

Following training this morning Ugarkovic said that he is happy to have been recognised for his efforts by the club’s Members and supporters.

“It’s good to be recognised by the fans, so for me this is a good reward,” Ugarkovic said.

“I like to think that I have worked hard on and off the ball, so I am happy with it, stoked.”

Ugarkovic played 90 minutes in three matches throughout February 2017, however missed the first game of the month against Perth Glory through suspension.

Newcastle Jets returned to the training pitch today after three days off to refresh both mentally and physically.

The side will play their next match on Saturday 18 March away to Melbourne City at AAMI Park.
