Newcastle Jets today received further corporate support ahead of the 2015/16 season with innovative and expanding engineering company Varley Group signing on as a major partner of the club.

Varley Group is one of Newcastle’s oldest and most advanced engineering companies, with their operations dating back to 1886.

Varley Group – which have their head office locally at Tomago and also operate directly across from Newcastle Jets’ Honeysuckle headquarters at Carrington, plus out of their Sydney and Brisbane bases – will have their brand represented by both the club’s Hyundai A-League and Westfield W-League teams throughout their respective campaigns.

Indeed, Varley Group branding will feature on the back of both team’s playing shorts from this weekend when Newcastle Jets take on Wellington Phoenix in Hyundai A-League 2015/16 Round 1 at New Zealand’s Westpac Stadium.

Newcastle Jets Interim Chief Executive Officer, Mr David Eland, said that Varley Group’s commitment to the Club on the eve of the new season provides a further boost for the Jets.

“With just two days until we start Hyundai A-League season 11 it is great that we are able to announce that yet another locally based, but nationally recognised company has chosen to partner with us,” Mr Eland said.

Varley Group offer a comprehensive range of services and products to a wide variety of major industries, and join a strong list of highly regarded companies to have pledged their support to the Club since Football Federation Australia (FFA) assumed control of the Jets in May.

“That list includes Beechwood Homes, Inspirations Paint, and the Greater Building Society, as well as our existing official apparel partner BLK, and highlights the work that has been done to connect the Club with the corporate world as well as the community.”

Varley Group has long supported local football in Northern New South Wales, and were indeed front of shirt partner for NPL Northern New South Wales Premiers and Champions Edgeworth FC this year – a team that also represented the region in the Westfield FFA Cup.

“We’re delighted that their support of football has now extended to the Hyundai A-League and Westfield W-League,” Eland concluded.

Varley Group Finance Director, Mr Tim O’Brien, said that his company are pleased to have joined forces with the Jets.

“We are delighted to partner with the Newcastle Jets for the upcoming Hyundai A-League season,” Mr O’Brien said.

“Both football and Varley have a proud history in the Hunter region, and our partnership with the Jets is an ideal means of celebrating this synergy.

Varley see the pure ambition that has spread throughout the Jets organisation in recent months, both within the playing and coaching ranks and also the club’s administrative structures, and are therefore excited to be part of the renewed energy surrounding football in Newcastle,” O’Brien concluded.
