NEXT MATCH: Jets to fly north to tackle Roar on Friday

Newcastle Jets will seek to earn back-to-back wins this Friday night when the club heads north to Brisbane to take on John Aloisi’s Roar side at Suncorp Stadium.

After defeating Melbourne City 2-1 at Hunter Stadium on Sunday the Jets will travel to the Sunshine State brimming with belief that they can earn a result against their high-flying hosts.

In their only meeting so far this campaign the Jets and Roar played out a 1-1 draw at Hunter Stadium. Back on November 28 Roar drew first blood through dangerous striker Jamie Maclaren, before Newcastle hit back via the boot of Ben Kantarovski.

Roar put on a clinic in their round 18 encounter against Central Coast, comfortably accounting for the Mariners 4-0 at home. Indeed, such was Roar’s dominance against Tony Walmsley’s team they could have scored seven or eight.

Accordingly the Jets will need to be on their game against an outfit flush with attacking threats. Maclaren, Brandon Borrello, Henrique, Corona, Thomas Broich and Dimitri Petratos are all capable of opening up any Hyundai A-League match.

Travelling fans can purchase tickets to the fixture here, however for those unable to attend in person there are a bevy of ways that you can engage with the match.
