Jets-bound defender Nigel Boogaard has today thrown his full support behind the club’s forthcoming Business, Member and Community Forums.

The Jets recently released the details of its Member Forum to be held at Panthers Newcastle on Thursday 18 June, and Boogaard – a local junior whose father Michael also represented the region on the national stage with KB United – has urged Members to get involved with the event and share their views.

“My family and I have been around the game in Newcastle for a long period of time, and I think it is key that the local football community are listened to,” Boogaard said.

“I think the club can go in a direction that is bigger and better than when it won the Championship in 2008, and I think the football community around Newcastle are really encouraged right now.”

“Credit to the FFA (Football Federation Australia) and the club going forward to include everyone’s opinions. I would certainly encourage all those people who have an opinion about the direction of the club to really voice it.”

“Hopefully in years to come everyone is on the same page and the things that were spoken about are the things that lay the platforms for a bright future,” he said.

The Newcastle Jets Member Forum will commence at 6:30pm on 18 June and conclude approximately two hours later.

Jets Chief Executive Officer Mr Mitchell Murphy and Head of Hyundai A-League Damien de Bohun will be two of the panellists on the evening.

Members are required to pre-register their attendance, as well as their questions and points for discussion if desired.
