The Newcastle Jets can advise that Wayne Brown will depart the club, following the mutual termination of the final year of his contract.

Brown joined the Jets in 2016, making 42 appearances for the club following his goal on debut against the Victory in the FFA Cup.

Brown was just the seventh player in Jets history to score on his competitive debut.

Jets boss, Ernie Merrick said that Brown had been a great servant to football in the area.

“Wayne is an excellent professional and we wish him every success in the future,” Merrick said.

“He’s a competitive character, extremely hard-working and been a pleasure to work with.”

The Newcastle Jets would like to thank Wayne for his contribution to the club and wish him the very best with his future endeavours.
