The Jets’ Westfield W-League side find themselves on the road again, travelling to Brisbane to face the Roar at AJ Kelly Park in Round 7.
Craig Deans’ side comes into the clash fresh off the back of a Round 6 bye, and welcomes back Emily van Egmond from international duty.
With the Roar currently in equal top spot and the Jets in third, the clash presents itself as a crucial one in the Westfield W-League landscape.
Following their clash with Brisbane, the Jets will return home to face the Perth Glory and Craig Deans said he was looking forward to the challenge.
“We want to test ourselves against the best,” said Deans.
“If we want to see ourselves as a finals team, as a championship winning team – we need to perform strongly and ultimately win against the likes of Brisbane and Perth.
“Brisbane are a quality side with a number of international players, it’ll be a tough challenge but we’re looking forward to it.”
Deans confirmed that while van Egmond had returned from Matildas camp, she was struggling with a lower back complaint.
“We’re just taking it easy with Em at the moment and giving her every chance to get right for the game,” added Deans.
“Fingers crossed she’ll be ok, she’s obviously an important part of the team, but I’m confident we can do the job if she’s unavailable.”
Tori Huster has been struggling with illness during the week but Deans fully expects her to take her place in his starting XI.
