Newcastle Jets can confirm that Hyundai A-League Assistant Coach, Qiang Li, will depart the Club to pursue other opportunities.

Li joined the Newcastle Jets in 2016, and has been a consistent figure at the Club for a number of years.

“I’d like to thank the coaches and staff in Newcastle, and the fans for their support during my time at the Jets,” Li said.

“I learned a lot working under different coaches in Newcastle and for that, I’ll always be thankful.”

“I’ll miss working at the Newcastle Jets, and I wish everyone the best of success in the future.”

Jets CEO, Lawrie McKinna paid tribute to Li and wished him the best of luck moving forward.

“Li has been a fantastic servant to the Club since joining as assistant to Scott Miller back in 2016, and has worked with a variety of people in his time at the Jets,” McKinna said.

“He brought a unique perspective to both training and game day, and worked closely with our younger players to develop their skills throughout the years.

“Li will be missed, and everyone at the Jets wishes him all the best in his next challenge.”
