Regan’s bright future at Jets

Defender Taylor Regan says the Jets are willing to do everything they can to win on Saturday.

Last time the Newcastle Jets travelled to the Central Coast they walked away empty handed but defender Taylor Regan says his team are willing to do everything they can to come up with a result against the Mariners on Saturday afternoon.

“We have to show a lot of respect at the Central Coast because they are on top of the ladder for a reason,” Regan explained.

“The Mariners are playing good football but most of all they are renowned for grinding out results.

“They play a similar style to Melbourne so hopefully we can counter-attack their formation.

“We had a game plan to keep the ball off Melbourne for long periods of the game and that worked, you only have to look at the statistics to see that we can control possession and create a fair few chances.”

After struggling to find a spot in the Jets line-up earlier this season, Regan-s hard work and performance has been praised by Gary van Egmond and the defender has found himself in the starting eleven the last few weeks.

“It is good to start playing consistently and at the moment I am doing quite well but as a team we are not getting the results,” he added.

“I would prefer to put my own performance aside in return for results, we are a pretty tight group and everyone understands their role.

“It is all bright for the future of the Newcastle Jets.”
