From two goals down with just under twenty minutes to play, to winners in extra-time – what a rollercoaster of a night in the FFA Cup Round of 32.

The headlines looked to have been written with a little over an hour played when former Jet, Andrew Nabbout scored his second goal to give Melbourne Victory a two-goal lead.

But the Jets weren’t having that.

The first half was an arm wrestle which the Jets had shaded in terms of territory and chances, until a sucker punch just prior to the whistle saw Andrew Nabbout open the scoring for Victory.

Chances rolled forth once more as the boys began the second half, but it was a goal from Nabbout with 61 minutes on the clock which put the travelling side two goals behind.

Abdiel Arroyo was introduced for his first Jets minutes and almost had a goal in the 63rd minute after Steven Ugarkovic curled a beautiful ball into him, but a stray first touch denied the Panamanian.

Stray first touches weren’t something which worried Johnny Koutroumbis just over ten minutes later, with the left-back hitting an absolute screamer from 25 yards out which took a deflection on its way into the back of the net.

When Dimi Petratos hit a similarly impressive goal to level things up in the 81st minute, Newcastle had the wind in their sails and almost grabbed a goal with a flurry of chances before the full time whistle.

With neither side able to find a winner, things went to extra-time. With both sides in the early stages of pre-season, the game slowed and opened up – perfectly for one player in particular.

Off the bench in the 98th minute, it took Pat Langlois just 15 minutes to make an impact – belting home a beauty of a goal, his first as a professional footballer, in the 113th minute to give his hometown club their second ever win in the FFA Cup.
