Dominik Ritter has called on the Club’s supporters to turn up in ‘massive numbers’ for Friday’s clash with the Wanderers.

Hunter Ports Newcastle Jets defender Dominik Ritter has called on the Club-s Members and supporters to turn up in ‘massive numbers- for the Jets- must-win final round game against Western Sydney Wanderers at Hunter Stadium on Friday.

The Jets need all three points to have a chance of qualifying for the A-League-s top six, while the Wanderers need at least a draw to secure the Premiers- Plate.

Ritter said regular season matches don-t come much bigger than Friday-s encounter and he is confident there will be a strong show of support from the Novocastrian faithful to mark the occasion.

“It-s been a long season and it basically all comes down to the last game,” Ritter said.

“We all know Western Sydney have a lot of supporters and they will bring a few to this game, so hopefully the Jets Members and supporters will be there in massive numbers as well to support us.

“It-s a big game for us, we need a win. As well all know, if we can win we can still make the finals and anything is possible after that.

“They-ve got a great team and they need a result against us to win the league.

“Both teams have everything to play for, so for the fans it is going to be the perfect game to watch.”

Ritter said the key to victory would be ensuring the Wanderers are unable to build momentum and confidence early in the contest.

“We need to make sure that our defensive shape is right and in order,” Ritter said.

“We definitely can-t afford to concede goals early, and it would be even better if we don-t concede at all.

“If we keep a clean sheet, I-m sure we can get one or two goals up front, so it-s important for us as a back four, as well as the holding midfielders to keep our structure.”

A big crowd is expected for Friday-s blockbuster clash between the Jets and Wanderers. Jets supporters are encouraged to pre-purchase their tickets from PROticket to secure the best seats and avoid queues on the day.
