Newcastle Jets skipper Nigel Boogaard is set to make a welcome return to action this Saturday against Brisbane Roar at Suncorp Stadium.Â
Boogaard sustained an ankle injury in the Club’s 2-2 stalemate with Wellington Phoenix on Boxing Day and subsequently missed the team’s first clash of 2017 – a 4-2 loss to Melbourne Victory in Geelong on Monday.
Unfortunately the news is not as good for young defender Ivan Vujica. Vujica may miss the next four to six weeks of match play after he sustained a hamstring injury in the loss in Geelong.
Young attacker Devante Clut has been promoted to Mark Jones’ preliminary squad to challenge Roar – his former Club – in the Sunshine State, while all other members of the squad that travelled last round have also been included.
