Squad: Big guns return for Sunday

Thumbnail

The turnaround is five days, slightly longer than what they have been lately, but Sunday will still be the Jets fourth game in 12 days.

Despite that, Ernie Merrick’s squad for the clash is one which is near full-strength, with just a pair of injuries to keep key players out of the mix.

Jason Hoffman remains sidelined with an ankle injury which will see him out until the end of the Hyundai A-League season, while Ronny Vargas is the newest visitor to the casualty ward.

He twinged his hamstring in the defeat to Kashima Antlers on Tuesday night, and is set to spend up to three weeks out.

Meanwhile, it’s the ins column which makes most of the interesting reading with Glen Moss, Nigel Boogaard, Ben Kantarovski, Dimi Petratos, and Daniel Georgievski all returning.

None of the five played last Friday night in that win over City, but after pulling up well from the AFC Champions League match on Tuesday they’re all once again in consideration.
