Only a few kilometres from the Newcastle city centre, McDonald Jones Stadium is home to the Newcastle United Jets and Newcastle Knights. In the past this recently re-developed stadium has also hosted rugby union matches and motocross events.

As of October 2012, McDonald Jones Stadium is a completely smoke free venue.
