If history is anything to go by it will be positive for Scott Miller’s Newcastle Jets to have Jason Hoffman on the club’s side in this Saturday’s F3 Derby away to Central Coast Mariners.
The statistics when Hoffman is involved in F3 Derby games for the Jets are favourable, with the right back having been involved in both of the club’s victories over Central Coast in Gosford in the past.
Saturday’s encounter – the Jets’ last of Hyundai A-League 2015/16 – will likely mark Hoffman’s 10th F3 Derby, and the locally born and bred player has only ever lost once in the regional rivalry.
Hoffman is one of four Newcastle Jets player to have played over 2,000 minutes for the club this campaign.
In the last F3 Derby meeting between the clubs on the Central Coast in late February, the Jets emerged as 1-0 victors thanks to Steven Ugarkovic’s first goal for the club.
Hoffman led the celebrations on the Coast, getting on the mega-phone as the Squadron created some memorable scenes with the club’s players in the post-match.
