The Jets- secured the 2007/08 Championship with a 1-0 win over the Mariners in front of 36,354 fans at the Sydney Football Stadium.
Jets TV spoke to Gary van Egmond about his memories from that historic day and what the F3 Derby means to the entire Newcastle Jets Football Club.
“We have to have the banter, we have to have the rivalry and we have to have the fuel added on top,” van Egmond explains.
“The build-up is important coming into the F3 Derby, otherwise it becomes any other game, and it-s not any other game, it-s the derby for us.”
