The Newcastle Jets W-League team is keen to maintain its unbeaten start to the season when they tackle Sydney FC at Adamstown this Saturday.

The Jets have had the perfect start with wins against defending Champions Brisbane and Adelaide in their opening two matches of the 2011/12 season. The team is currently placed second on the ladder with a game in hand.

New Jets signing Lisa De Vanna has been ruthless in her opening matches, scoring four goals. The 2007 FIFA World Cup All Star is arguably the best striker in the country and will prove difficult for the Sydney FC defence.

German World Cup Champion Ariane Hingst has been impressive at central back and is showing strong leadership qualities. Other strong performers have included rising star Emily Van Egmond, Australian Captain and Jets goalkeeper Melissa Barbieri and local product Tara Andrews.

The Jets are hoping for strong support from the 10,000 Jets Members. There was an impressive turnout for the first home game with close to 1,000 people attending, many Jets Members wearing their Member caps and lanyards.
