The team is starting to reap the benefits of van Egmond’s changes.

Since arriving back in Newcastle, coach Gary van Egmond has implemented a number of changes and after a securing their first away game point; he believes the team is starting to reap the benefits of these changes.

“We are still finding out about each other, Tarek was here last time I coached but it is a new team,” he said.

“The one thing that has been really positive since arriving is how well the team has responded to what I have implemented and they are starting to see the benefits of these changes.

Van Egmond is not only happy with how well the team has been responding to his coaching style, he is also thrilled with how supportive the people of Newcastle have been towards the team.

“We have the second highest Membership in the A-League at the moment which is a great achievement,” the coach explained.

“To have over 10,000 Members is a fantastic for a demographic like Newcastle, especially when compared to Sydney and Queensland.

The Jet Members and fans won-t have to wait long to watch their team play again, with the team returning home this weekend to take on Harry Kewell-s Melbourne Victory.

“We are looking forward to this weekend-s game, being back at home and fighting for the three points,” van Egmond added.
