The Jets will be working hard in training to make sure Saturday’s performance is better than the last.

While pleased to see his team come away from Saturday-s home game with the three-points against Melbourne Heart, Gary van Egmond says that the team will be working this week to make sure this weekend-s performance against Perth Glory is better than the last.

“Every week we get on the training field and we make it harder than the week before and that is how we go about our preparation and ensure we give the team the best possible opportunity to be become better for the next weekend,” the coach explained.

“For us to pick up points on the road was a real confidence boost and we are becoming more consistent but there is still plenty of things to keep working on.”

Having won their third consecutive game, it is clear the Jets hard work is paying off.

“I think it was always going to take a little bit of time and we did a lot of work and we still do a lot of work with our pressing but there is a time and place for pressing and that is something we have gotten a lot better at,” he added.

“We need to ensure that our performance is at a certain level and we are controlling the game for the mainstay, creating opportunities and recognising decisions and that is what this season is about and what next season is about.

“We are going to try and make this team the best unit we can.”
