The U13 Lambton Jaffas were treated to a coaching clinic with Newcastle Jets youth team coach Clayton Zane and Jets players Taylor Regan and Zenon Caravella at Ray Watt Oval on Monday morning.

Jaffas player David Hastie won the prize of a coaching clinic for his team after entering a Westfield Registration Day competition for junior footballers at a local Westfield shopping centre earlier this year.

The Jaffas were able to watch the Newcastle Jets first team go through their paces during an early morning training session before getting autographs and photos with their heroes.

Zane, along with Regan and Caravella then ran a coaching clinic for the Jaffas players, which saw them work on a variety of football skills including dribbling, passing, shooting and defending.

“They were very enthusiastic and showed they are willing to listen and learn which is important at that age,” Zane said.

“It was a good opportunity to for them to watch the Jets train and then for us to give something back to some local junior footballers.”
