Newcastle Jets Chinese import, Zhang Shuo, is set to make his A-league debut this Sunday when the Newcastle Jets host the Brisbane Roar at EnergyAustralia Stadium. The Chinese striker-s availability is timely given a long Newcastle Jets injury list that includes Sean Rooney, Nikolai Topor Stanley, Jobe Wheelhouse and Ruben Zadkovich.

The Chinese striker arrived in Newcastle three weeks ago but a hamstring injury has deemed him unavailable up until now. Zhang has trained solidly with the squad this week and looks to have fully recovered from his hamstring injury. The strikers availability will come as a welcome positive for coach, Branko Culina, whose team has only registered one goal this season. With the Newcastle Jets having only two players, Tarek Elrich & Labinot Haliti, who have previously scored for the Jets against the Roar, the Chinese striker may prove to be Branko Culina-s ace on Sunday.

The Newcastle Jets have had a challenging week and this weekend-s match will have extra significance for the Hunter side. With two draws from their opening three matches, the Jets are primed for a win but they will have to overcome an in form Brisbane side who has started the season well earning 7 out of a possible 9 points, their best start since version two of the A-League, and have not yet conceded a goal this season.

The match between the Newcastle Jets and the Brisbane Roar will kick off at EnergyAustralia Stadium at 3pm on Sunday 5th September.
