Matthew Ridenton

The first signing of the 2018/19 season, Matt Ridenton is a player who could make a real difference for any Hyundai A-League club in the final third. The Kiwi international has played more than 70 games for Wellington Phoenix, cementing his place as a key cog in his former team. The man who gave him his first professional contract in Ernie Merrick has again signed Ridenton, further bolstering his midfield. Ridenton’s first appearance for the Newcastle Jets was on 11 August 2018, in the 1-0 FFA Cup win over Gold Coast Knights.
